How to make Crystal Water AKA Gem Elixirs

The photo is a gem elixir jar made of a French, clear glass canning jar, with a votive glass containing the gemstones, immersed in the jar. The glass of gemstones is floating approximately an inch and a half above the water line.

The gemstones can also be placed surrounding the outside of the jar, rather than inside.

When making crystal water, the most important thing to keep in mind is that many minerals have trace amounts of lead and other heavy metals that can leach out into water, so these should never directly contact the water elixirs that are made to be ingested or for cosmetic use.

Quartz, such as clear quartz, amethyst, and citrine, are considered non-toxic in water. Likewise, agate is a microcrystalline variety of quartz. Both agate and quartz are primarily composed of silica, so they are basically a form of crystalline glass and are therefore, considered non-toxic in water.  Libyan desert glass is also primarily composed of silica and is considered non-toxic in water.   

Pure distilled water is recommended as the water used to make crystal elixirs..

Place the jar directly outside or on a well-exposed windowsill to activate the energy of the stones. The water should be exposed to sun and moonlight for at least twenty-four (24) hours. Crystal water tends to taste "sweeter" than regular water.
